Juravinski Cancer Centre – Chemotherapy & Pharmacy Upgrades Project - Hamilton
RCEI provided design of mechanical upgrades for the chemotherapy and pharmacy renovations at Juravinski Cancer Centre. HVAC upgrades were done to support major renovations to the clean rooms, isolation rooms and the pharmacy areas. Fan powered HEPA filters were installed to provide clean air to the clean rooms, mechanical scope included HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Medical Gases and Building Automation System.
Juravinski Cancer Centre – LINAC Accelerator Bunker Project
Regal Consulting Engineers Inc. provided design of mechanical systems to support the upgrades to four radiation bunkers at Juravinski Cancer. Regal was instrumental in revising and upgrading the existing HVAC system feeding the radiation bunker areas in the basement of the main cancer centre building to meet the requirements of CSA Z317.2-10.

Regal also designed a heat pump connected to the existing chiller to extract the heat dissipated from the bunker radiation equipment install in the mod room of each bunker. Plumbing, Fire protection as well as the building automation systems were upgraded to suit the major renovations project.
Garrison Creek Toronto Western Family Health
Regal recently completed a major offsite healthcare project for University Health Network providing mechanical & electrical engineering services.

The project entailed complete interior retrofit of a three storey circa 1940 multi-tenanted commercial building into a 24,000 sq.ft. community health clinic comprising patient examination, procedure, consult room, staff amenity, support conference and administration space.

As the first major ministry funded clinical project of this type for university health network. Regal’s responsibility was to ensure that all the recent updated requirements of Ontario Building Code, CSA standards and the ministry of health requirements are met in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC design and construction documents and specifications.

The existing air handling units servicing the building were replaced with new air handling units to meet the air change requirements as per CSA Z317.2-10.
